Minister Nurkovic at the annual International Transport Forum Summit in Leipzig

The delegation led by the Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs of Montenegro Osman Nurkovic participates in Leipzig (Federal Republic of Germany) at the annual International Transport Forum Summit. The Leipzig Annual Summit represents the leading platform for dialogue on the future of transport. It gathers representatives from 59 member states to talk to decision-makers from industry, civil society and the academic community and discuss trends that shape mobility in the 21st century.

The Director of the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA), headquartered in Lisbon-Portugal, Mr. Markku Mully, visited on Thursday, 03.05.2018. the Maritime Safety Department. During the visit, Mr. Mully visited the Maritime Operations Center of the Marine Safety Depratment at Dobra voda in Bar and met with the work of the VTS Service, the Coastal Radio Station of Barradio and the Coordination Center for Tracing and Rescue at Sea - MRCC Bar.

Minister Nurkovic at TEN-T Days in Ljubljana: Montenegro seeks to maximally engage in traffic safety and cross-border cooperation

A delegation led by the Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs of Montenegro Osman Nurkovic participates in Ljubljana (Republic of Slovenia) on TEN-T Days, a leading event on European transport conevictivity, with a special focus on traffic safety and cross-border connectivity. In addition to Minister Nurkovic, members of the Delegation are Secretary of State Angelina Živković, Secretary Adis Pepić, Director of Railway Traffic Department Milan Banković and Independent Advisor Bilsana Bibić.

Improving Cooperation between Montenegro and the European Union in the Field of Transport

Minister Osman Nurkovic met with the Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Montenegro, Mr. Aivo Orav. Minister Nurkovic expressed gratitude for all the support and assistance Montenegro had received from the European Commission, pointing out that the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs was among the largest beneficiaries of investment support instruments provided to the Western Balkan countries through the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF) and Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA), and yet there were evident lengthy procedures for the realization of funds granted from EU funds, for which reason the planned implementation schedule for projects which had to be implemented in accordance with domestic regulations was often jeopardized.

Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs, Mr. Osman Nurkovic met with Minister of Transport, Logistics and Water Minister of the Kingdom of Morocco, Mr Abdelkader Amar in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco. Minister Nurkovic responded to the invitation of his Moroccan colleague in order to establish better co-operation between the two states.

Completed the reconstruction of the railway line Virpazar - Sutomore in the Sozina tunnel

Regarding the completion of the reconstruction of the railway line on the Virpazar - Sutomore section in the Sozina tunnel in the length of 6712 meters, minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs, Osman Nurković, pointed out yesterday that the transport sector in Montenegro together with the environment sector is predominant in the number of projects financed through available IPA funds.
