The delegation led by the Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs of Montenegro, Osman Nurkovic, took part in the 13th SEETO Annual Ministerial Meeting and the First Ministerial Council established within the framework of the Transport Community Treaty. In addition to Minister Nurkovic, the members of the delegation who attended the SEETO's 53rd Steering Committee meeting were State Secretary Angelina Zivkovic and Secretary of the Ministry Adis Pepic.

INTERVIEW: MINISTER OF TRANSPORT AND MARITIME AFFAIRS OSMAN NURKOVIC We are preparing documents for other sections of the highway In addition to continuing the construction of the priority section of the Bar-Boljare highway, the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs will actively work on the preparation of technical documentation for the next sections of this corridor in 2018, said Minister Osman Nurkovic in an interview for Daily newspaper. He said that despite the bad situation in Montenegro Airlines, the biggest challenge in the first year of the mandate was the construction of a priority highway Bar-Boljare. Nurkovic talked about the valorisation of the Airport of Montenegro and the problems of the Montenegrin railway.

“Montenegro has achieved a lot in the field of transport within the 16+1 mechanism but there remains space for even better results. We are building a highway; we procured four freight ships; we turned the attention of Chinese businessmen and investors towards Montenegro and towards the business and investment framework we offer, and through this multilateral format we also improved bilateral relations with China and individually with the CEEC countries” stated Minister Nurković. He spoke within the Panel 1 – Political Plans, Infrastructure Projects and Transport Development Vision in the Adriatic Sea region which encompasses Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia and Montenegro. The theme of this year’s meeting was Intermodality - guarantee for effective transport with a benefit for economy.
